Welcome!

Looking for the COSA BELLA FOTO blog? You're at the right place! We're in the process of changing our name to Joey Nicole Photography, so please hang tight and we'll have it all clear very soon. In the meantime, enjoy some snapshots of recent shoots and articles filling you in on what's going on in the here and now. Enjoy!

I am not a YouTube junkie. I have probably watched fewer YouTube videos than anyone else around. It kind of freaks me out, the random things I have seen when I have watched them. So I choose carefully.

While perusing facebook updates today, I stumbled across this video, and it took me completely off-guard in a beautiful, surprising, uncanny kind of way. I had never seen it, I wasn't expecting it, and it made me smile. It made me laugh. So much that I cried. I laughed and I cried through the entire thing. I am posting it here to share the good mojo.

I love this couple. I wish I knew them and their friends. I wish I could have been their wedding photographer. It's the amount of passion and entire lack of shame that went into it that makes me love them. It just made me feel good.

I wish the same carefree kind of feeling for you today :)

Wow. It has been one crazy month. In the last 2.5 weeks, we have photographed one destination wedding, one local wedding, one unique wedding ceremony, one engagement shoot, one family shoot, and even a commercial shoot. And we even decided to change our company name in the middle of it all. I am dizzy to say the least!

The greatest part of it all is being able to be surrounded by the love these couples and families share, and to experience these fantastic celebrations of that love. At times I feel like an intruder... like these moments are so private and so intimate, that I shouldn't be there... that they should be able to sink away and take it all in privately. But, somehow, I manage to disappear into the background and capture it. I am truly one lucky lady to be included in these moments.

I don't have time right now to give everyone a full blog post yet (but I will when I catch my breath a bit!), so enjoy a single image from each event our last few weeks.

Liz and Jeff were married on the 4th of July and are now celebrating in St. Lucia...

Annie and Jyun had a very intimate wedding ceremony at a Japanese Shinto Shrine...

A wedding image of ours from last Fall was just posted on Seattle Style as an "Iconic Image." WOW! We are soooo flattered at the compliment!

Yesterday afternoon, something on the television made me sappy. I sighed an "oh, how sweet" kind of noise as I was taken in by this moment. I can't even remember what it was (because even commercials can have this effect on me), except that it was some form of one person showing his or her love for the other.

Jake looked at me and said, "Honey, do you love love?" And all I could think to reply was, "Who doesn't?" Hello??? He laughed at me and my sappy ways and I realized that perhaps I have the most perfect job in the world, where I get to revel in the love story of each couple I meet, and I get to capture that love in moments that will never, cannot ever, be forgotten. How unbelievably cool is that?

Well, Niki and Konan are one such couple.

Niki and Konan met while Niki was working abroad in London. After Niki returned home to Seattle, their friendship continued at a nice steady pace before it skyrocketed into a full blown love affair when Konan flew out to visit Niki last Fall. Konan proposed to Niki while on a trip to India last month to meet his family, and she - so happily - obliged.

During a small ceremony at the park, Niki and Konan exchanged their vows in the presence of just a few family and friends. Very soon, they will be starting their lives together in London and both will be very, very missed by all they have touched here at home.

Now doesn't that just make you say "awwwwww..."?

April 30, 2009 // Weddings
Courtney got ready at a gorgeous suite in Seattle's Hotel Monaco. Pet-friendly, it allowed the bride the company of their rescue Maltese, Suzie, while she prepared for her big day (you might remember her guest appearance in their engagement shoot earlier this year).

While I couldn't get enough of the bold, hot pink-striped wallpaper, nothing shone so brightly as the bride herself. And while she was stunning all on her own, her smile beamed ever more brightly when in the company of the love of her life, Andrew.

Courtney and Andrew's wedding was styled with so many personal touches, I couldn't help but put them all here in the blog. Normally I love to let each image shine on it's own, but a few collages seemed to fit the bill here just perfectly to show off the monogrammed napkins, candy bar, and - oh yes - both cake AND cupcakes!

And to the lovely Bride & Groom... thank you so much for allowing Jake and I to capture your wedding day!! We have hundreds of more photos to share, but hopefully this will tide you over until the rest are ready :) Enjoy!
